Champion Métadier's recent work addresses the issues and consequences of a world proliferated by digital images. In Champion Métadier’s most recent work, these issues manifest in a particularly acute way, resulting in the creation of dense objects of introspection.
Métadier’s work sustains a strange tension between what can be seen and what is intelligible. The artist works in the digital realm in order to show how this engagement has changed the process of creating and perceiving images. These prints explore tension between various diametric relationships—the human eye and simulation of software programs, precise images and unresolved interpretations, and digital prints and the touch of a hand.
Recent exhibitions include solo shows at Galerie Suzanne Tarasieve in Paris, France in 2016 and the Museum of Design in Paris, France in 2015.
